The Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), Public Officers’ Law Article 6, provides that all records are accessible, except records or portions of records that fall within one of the nine categories of deniable records. Yard Sales in the Town of Lancaster – A reminder to residents that you must obtain a permit prior to holding a yard sale, garage sale, or estate sale at your private residence. The permit can be obtained at the Town Clerk’s office.

No open burning of leaves and/or yard debris is allowed in the Town of Lancaster.

A new Local Law was adopted by the Town Board on February 2, 2015 regarding changes to dog licensing fees. Residents of the Town (including the Villages of Lancaster and Depew) are advised that a $5 surcharge, per month, will be assessed for each dog license not renewed within the specific renewal month regardless as to the number of days lapsed. Change in NYS Law for Electronic Waste – Effective January 1, 2015, a new law is in effect throughout New York State. It is unlawful for residential households to place electronic equipment at the curb for disposal. Please refer to the Refuse and Recycling page for further information.
